While joining the Army can instill great discipline in your life, one area that appears to be lacking is marital commitment. Army veterans, who are defined as people who have previously served in the military or who are on active duty, are twice as likely to cheat on their spouses as those who were never in the military. More than 32% of veterans that had tied the knot at some point reported sex outside the bounds of their marriage, which is just under twice the going rate for married non-veterans (16.8%). Interestingly enough, those same veterans have a 10% higher divorce rate as well. We all knew Hot Lips Houlihan ruined more than a few marriages. (Who could resist her?)In all seriousness, there are some interesting theories put forward regarding this higher rate of infidelity. Some hypothesise that the stress of the Army can lead to worse judgment or that the long-term distance factor is potentially the backbreaker.Regardless of the reason, studies like this indicate that a special unit to tackle this problem might help more marriages last.

If we’re being honest, in Crouch’s case, we can probably rule out looks being a factor. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: one of the main reasons men cheat is that their partners let them get away with it. Ignoring bad behaviour breeds bad behaviour. Once the trust is gone in any relationship, you’re on shaky ground for sure. Of course, Abbey isn’t alone. In fact she’s in very high profile company: Toni Poole, Colleen Rooney and Cheryl Cole and Stacey Giggs are just a handful of her fellow WAGS who’ve welcomed their cheating partners back into their lives after a tiny bit of grovelling.
